"I’m nearly 5 years out from giving birth. I had hoped my feelings towards the experience would change over time, but they have not. I still feel mislead, I still feel lied to, I still feel that I was coerced during my long, 30 hour labor, I still feel like my body autonomy was striped away from me, I still feel ignored. In addition to these negative feelings I have, the team at Fairview failed to fully remove the placenta after birth, causing me hemorrhaging and further, and absolutely unnecessary, trauma. Respect and honesty can make all the difference and when it is not given it can creat so much needless pain."
