About the Business

Sundance Drive-In

Sundance Drive-In, located at 4500 Navarre Avenue in Oregon, Ohio, is a beloved movie theater institution that offers a unique and nostalgic experience for moviegoers. Originally known as the Parkside Drive-In Movie Theater, this historic venue holds a special place in American history and has been preserved by the nonprofit organization Save Our Screen, Inc.

Established in 2022, Save Our Screen, Inc. was created to ensure that future generations could enjoy the magic of the drive-in movie experience. Despite facing challenges such as costly repairs and legal battles with a former operator, the nonprofit worked tirelessly to keep the Parkside Drive-In alive.

Unfortunately, due to ongoing obstacles and circumstances, Save Our Screen has made the difficult decision not to reopen the Parkside for the upcoming season. While this news is heartbreaking, the organization remains dedicated to promoting the drive-in experience and encourages movie enthusiasts to explore the remaining 21 authentic drive-ins in Ohio.

As Save Our Screen wraps up its operations, they will be providing refund information to those who had purchased memberships or passes for the upcoming season. The organization expresses gratitude for the support received from volunteers, staff, and drive-in enthusiasts, and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.

Although the future of the Parkside Drive-In remains uncertain, the passion for preserving the drive-in experience lives on. Sundance Drive-In invites movie lovers to continue seeking out and enjoying the unique charm of drive-in theaters across Ohio. Visit www.authenticdriveins.com for a full list of remaining drive-ins in the state.

"The boss in works in the kitchen is disrespectful. I was standing in the wrong spot. He yelled at me like I was one of his employees. I think the boss needs to be more professional on how he handles his costumers."

"Really awesome drive in. You don't get to see a lot of these any more and it's fun to take the kids and watch them enjoy the experience. They get to run around in the grass and play while waiting for the movie, then usually the kids or family movie plays first and when they are all tuckered out and sleeping the more adult movie comes on for you and your significant other. I grew up coming here, my kids grew up coming here and I hope some day my grand kids can as well. The facility is generally clean and well maintained, the staff is friendly and the prices cant be beat."

"My first time at a Drive-in. The food was good, we shared the 14" pizza with popcorn. Movie screen is a great size, we parked 4 rows back and still could see very well."
