"Amazing Bar and Staff"

"My husband and I came here for Karaoke. We chose to sing Masquerade from Phantom of The Opera. Shortly after the song began, they stopped the music and told us “the owner of the bar does not want this song being sung. We do not know why but it’s probably not popular enough.” This was after I had sung Somebody Kill Me Please by Adam Sandler from the movie The Wedding Singer. If any song were to be cut off I would assume it would be the song I was singing about killing myself, not the song from an opera. I do not understand why they felt the song I had sung was ok but once my husband, who just so happen to be the only Arab man in the bar that night, got on stage with me it was a problem. We asked to speak to the owner of the bar to find out what the problem was but we were then told the owner was not at the bar that night. I am still trying to wrap my head around the whole thing. I find the whole situation ironic considering there’s a Phantom of The Opera poster inside of the bar… I do not recommend this bar to those who want to sing Opera or to any Middle Eastern individual. Clazel has lost 2 of their 8 costumers."

"Went there to scout the venue for an old band mate. Place looks the perfect for a show. Its a big place in a cozy college town. Plenty of room for guests, looks like it could house several hundred comfortably. Real big bar, should be easy to get to the bartender. Got a decent spread of taps too. Place has alot of old school charm, current owner has the place decked out it 1920s memorabilia with plans to add more in the future. Stage is pretty big, got some nice lighting too. I'm definitely gonna recommend to my friend."

"My husband and I were married there in 2015 - thought I wrote a review back then but apparently I never did. We were just talking about all the terrible things that happened and what we wish we could have done differently. The venue is beautiful, but that is the only thing it’s got going for it. There was supposed to be a bridal suite for me to get ready in - I tried to see it three times before the wedding and they always said that I couldn’t for some reason or another and then on the day of the wedding, they told me a pipe burst and it wasn’t available. They refunded me the money, but the fact that I never even got to see it tells me that there was probably an issue long before my actual wedding day. We made a couple requests to slightly change the food and they told us that would be fine and then ignored them. I provided a seating chart so they would know which tables should be numbered what - they ignored that and set the tables up in no particular order so my 80 year old grandfather in a wheelchair had to move tables when they cleared them out for the dance floor and we had super distant relatives right up by the stage and close family all the way in the very back of the venue - I was mortified! All in all, this review is 4.5 years old now so maybe they’ve gotten a lot better, but Cat Crites is who we worked with in the beginning and she didn’t follow through on anything. Then we started working directly with the manager or owner - I can’t remember his name, but he said all the right things to make us feel better and then he didn’t come through with anything on the day of either. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. If I could do it all over again I would start with a new venue. The setting fit us well, but it just wasn’t worth the stress."

"The Clazel is a gorgeous venue with so much history. We knew we wanted to book them for our wedding reception the moment we walked in. They offer catering, a DJ, and a wedding coordinator in their packages and the quality is worth far more than the overall price. The staff is completely awesome and professional. Our wedding coordinator, Cat, was always organized and flexible. We threw so many questions at her and she handled them with grace. Honestly, I don't think we could have gotten a better person for the job. Overall, I would highly recommend the Clazel to anyone who appreciates the beauty an old 1920s theatre has to offer. The space is so unique that it will blow away your guests. We've been married for two weeks now and we're still receiving compliments on our beautiful reception venue!"
