"I was curious about rates, and wanted to shop around. After a few minutes I thought I noticed a change in the phone call, as if maybe I could sense that it wasn't well-received. If a customer is not "who" you would prefer to help, then simply say that. The world is ugly enough, who has time to go out of their way to be unkind, doing extra work in the process. I told the woman to NOT worry about checking or calling me back. The second call was to ask if I understood the difference between a minimum policy and full coverage, as if I meant to ask about minimum because I am dense (it was never mentioned). Apparently she saw that when I was 20 (I am now 35), I was on my father's policy. I have had full coverage until the present. She had a snide remark to my telling her before hanging up, leading me to believe the exchange had concluded. She then proceeded to call me back a third time anyway, leaving a voicemail to inform me that she would not help me, and to repeat "why". Actually, I could have learned something about "at fault" accidents, that they is on the record regardless. Instead I was met with resistance, judgement, and an unbelievably unpleasant phone etiquette. I am not sure what was going on with her, I hope she has a better day tomorrow :) I would not have minded to be told I wasn't a fit. Borderline harassment is not necessary. And I record all my phone calls, for people like her. We are all serfs my dear. You aren't special. Or kind."
