"I cannot say enough good things about Miss Thompson and her team of instructors. Not only has she continued to empower my son to be the best version of himself and continue to have confidence in his abilities but she really wants to partner alongside her parents if there are any behavioral concerns at home. My son looks forward to Taekwondo every week. He loves that he gets to interact with multiple different instructors who have such a passion for their craft. My son never really loved "team sports" but with HTA we found the perfect mix of preparing with a team but performing and being judged on your own. So grateful to what HTA has done for our family. I am a taekwondo mom for life."

"Best Taekwondo in town! My son has been going here since March 2020. It has been so great for him!! He’s almost 9. They do class and offer extras like dodgeball, tournaments, and skills days. I’ve noticed improved focus and confidence. I feel good knowing my son knows how to defend himself. The Teachers and owner are amazing!! ❤️"

"Edited (12-8-2022): As an update, I decided to try something different in our classes for ages 3-5. Instead of giving a few warnings and then sending a student home if they continued to misbehave or were disrespectful/rude, we've added a blue timeout mat. We review the rules at the beginning of class and even our 3 year old students will answer that the blue mat is for time out, that timeout is 20 seconds, if they argue about timeout another 20 seconds is added, that we are not bad if we sit in timeout but just need a quiet moment. We do not give any warnings, but if a student is being unsafe or ignoring instructions, we simply ask them to go sit on the blue mat, they go, an instructor uses a timer, and then they return to class. The change has been amazing. In the several weeks we've been using the blue timeout mat, misbehaviors haven't escalated and we haven't needed to send any students home during class. Not giving warnings before a time out keeps other students from joining in the behavior, students are still having fun and more great learning is happening. We don't like bad reviews, but sometimes they help you make a change to change the perception of what's happening in class. End of edit/update 12-8-2022. Our previous response to a negative review about sending repeatedly misbehaving students home: Yes, we sometimes send a student home (if a quick chat and then a short timeout didn't work), even a 3-year-old, but not for simply not standing still and not simply for chewing on their uniform -- because after all 3-year-olds do 3-year-old things -- but because of repeated defiant behavior within a class or over multiple classes; for example repeatedly making faces (sometimes that arms crossed, stubborn "you can't make me face") at an instructor when we are trying to explain a behavior isn't safe. We are, after all a martial arts school and teaching respectful behavior and following directions (in a motivating & positive environment) is what we do. It helps you at home, and helps when they go to school. We suggest you check us out for yourself."

"My son has been going here for about a year (he was 3 when he started) and it's been nothing but positive. Ms. Thompson and the instructors all got to know him quickly and are great with all the kids while being sure to let them know when they aren't paying attention of following directions. Toddlers learn to work together and control their bodies (and voices) during class while burning off energy and having fun. Each week's class is different but always ends with the kids helping clean up the room before getting high fives and a ribbon added to their belt. My son listens better at HTA than he ever does anywhere else!"
