"I was an "at risk" youth when I was young- there wasn't anyone like Coach Harry or IBC around my neighborhood (I wish there was- could've helped the old neighborhood a lot!) I went to IBC as a 40+ year old local Teamster Trucker, who finally quit smoking after doing in for 33 years and putting on about 40-45 lbs in the process of doing it. I needed to get back in shape- doctors should prescribe the IBC! From what I have seen there, the place means the world to a lot of people for different reasons, and positivity and hard work (self accomplishment) are contagious there. God Bless the IBC, Coach Harry, all staff, all sponsors and all boxers who make the place so + -Jo Nielsen"

"Absolutely amazing place to learn professional boxing. I cannot stress this enough. This is an amazing opportunity if you are looking to be taught by professionals, this is where to go. You will not be judged, But they will push you to develop your potential."

"Came 5-6 yrs ago..not impressed with Harry or the gym..he has an ego and kids come to.learn to box not do school work..He cares more about look at these high risk kids staying out of trouble than he does about actual boxing..this gym isn't for real.boxers looking to improve and get better and definitely this gym is not for people looking to compete at A high level..we were very disappointed in this gym..also you can say the caring about at-risk youth is somewhat of a gimmick. because I know 4 at risk kids who filled.out paper Wark and applied to start at the gym and they were told we are not taking anyone now we will call when we are..never heard back..these 4 kids were dieing to join..shame on Harry and this gym."

"I started boxing at Coach Harris Gym in 2004 after going from 210lb down to 120lb from running/conditioning at which time i felt/learned about IBC from a friend that left for the USMC 1yr after us going too IBC together I continued going for another 2 yrs before i joined the USMC Infantry for 4 yrs, and on visit/96 home i would frequent the Gym/IBC until Coach Harris heard of me getting in trouble once out of the service at which point he explained to me that i could not come back to his Gym because of this; but the walk home from the Gym, and knowing that i let him/myself down made me cry during my walk home, and i will always remember that... Coach Harris where's his heart on his sleeve, and if he sees something in someone it because most people can not... Thanks coach Harris. Sir.."

"I wouldn't say Harry is a good mentor for kids. As much as the website talks about empowering youth and providing an alternative to the streets with my childs experience he went completely against that. When I signed him up for the program I explained he would only be able to make it two days a week instead of three and Harry said that was fine. He missed a few days over the past five months, three of them he had the flu, and on Monday he told my son if he missed another day he would tell him to turn around and walk back out those doors the next time he came in. He completely humiliated him in front of the other kids. My son is not a disrespectful kid. He never once contacted me to let me know there was a problem. I asked him why he would kick a kid out of the program without speaking with his parents about the problem first he said he's not there to call kids parents. My son isn't an at risk child but I think that's a good way push an at risk child back to the streets and discourage them from changing their life around. I think Harry is a bully rather than a role model and mentor to kids."
