"WAYYYY TOO SMALL, WAYYYY TOO CROWDED. If you're using the free weights, be prepared for a long wait (pun somewhat intended); that area is crowded, and the fact the benches are so close to those weights makes the workouts pretty precarious at most times (because of how crowded the gym usually is). Despite these facts -- and the fact that many machines are out of order at a time -- it's not the worst gym if you're a student who is on a budget and forced to live on/near campus. Traffic tends to die down substantially in the afternoons (especially on cold days), as well as on weekend mornings/afternoons, thus mitigating the aforementioned "gym-goer density" problem. If, however, you're not a student and you have to PAY for a membership at the UD Recplex, my experience tells me you'll probably find the local rec centers or Planet Fitness gyms provide better environments for your workouts."

"Cleanest athletic facility I have ever belonged to with a great lap swim pool and hot tub as added benefit!"

"As a student who has used this facility daily for 4 years, it deserves nothing less than 5 stars."

"Overall it's an okay facility. There definitely is a wide range of activities and equipment however I gave it 3 stars/average rating for the following reasons (in order of significance/severity): 1) The number of machines/equipment/attachments (i.e. rope, d-handle, etc.) is too few for the volume of people trying to work out - cardio equipment may be the exception to this 2) The shower facilities are hardly maintained/cleaned - evidenced by a drop of shower gel on the wall present for months, a dead gnat in one of the showers present for at least a few weeks, missing curtains in a few of the showers 3) Machines are fairly often out of order and so you have to run around trying to find a machine that works... this compounds the issue in (1). Finding the combination of free-machine, in working condition, with the correct grip available can sometimes be daunting 4) The types of machines leaves just a little to be desired - no leg extension, no torso rotation, no abdominal adductor, and so-on Overall the atmosphere is nice (not too many "weight-droppers" or "grunters"), it's not a dump, mostly has a wide variety of equipment, so it does have redeeming qualities."

"Nice facilities and friendly staff, but it is not large enough to support the students on weeknights. My volleyball group rarely is able to play and after calling, we're told that there are too many people playing basketball and cannot put up a net. Several calls have been made by different people on different days."
