"Ketamine therapy does work, it pulled me out of extreme treatment resistant depression of a score above 40 to below 20 (today was my last infusion at 20 so I know it'll get better since I also do c-ptsd therapy work), however, be prepared with calming music, a blanket or two from home, and a good mindset like "Everyone is just trying to help and I'm trying to be the best person I can be." Also afterwards, you need to do after care to make your brain used to positive outlooks like therapy and positive mantras like "allow life to happen and surrender to the journey, it'll be okay". Sometimes (and if this is you, please stop making everyone's experience scary) the guests and patients scream and cause distress because they aren't prepared and are rude, (the workers try their best to calm them down but some people only care about themselves/their family member) so make sure you can try to tell yourself you're safe because nothing happens, you just lay there being monitored. The workers are empathetic, non judgemental, and do a good job monitoring you. They give good advice and also have a dog that can comfort you. The chair is a reclining chair and they provide anti nausea pills. I would highly recommend this therapy to anyone who is willing to also do the mental health therapy along side it. What Ketamine feels like with eyes closed: you are floating, moving, and/or melting in a world you create. If you don't play positive music and have a positive mindset you could freak out and hurt yourself and others, so stay calm and let the journey happen but take it by the horns to happy memories.It doesn't change your personality at all, you are still you after so just focus on the music."
