"I found Dr. Beckman through a friend. The first year I felt things went well enough, but there were times I often that I wasn’t truly being heard and sometimes having thoughts swept to the side. In January of 2021 things became awkward when Dr. Beckman over shared a personal story and became self conscious. This became compounded when I told him how I felt on something and I felt his response was a little cooler and more off putting then he normally was. I reached out about being tested for ADHD which he said he would be happy to do when we could start in person appointments, but again it felt more like he was agreeing to something without the intent to follow through. I fell out of counseling for a few months and was struggling to find the motivation to go back. When I was feeling at my worst I received a text with his new number, I took it as a sign to message him and get back at it. Dr. Beckman read the message but never responded to me. I won’t be going back. I found a new counselor who upon really listening to me has correctly diagnosed some things and I am getting the proper treatment now. I know people who actively use him and have had good experiences but I just feel these past few interactions were I had with him were unprofessional."
