"I'm a 2014 Alumni. When I was there, the first year was a bit rough, but I got in the swing of things. In my sophomore year I had fantastic grades. However, in my last 2 years I started getting sick of KCU. Why is that? First off, I am furious that you spent so much money on your sports programs. We came here for the Word of God, not football, basketball, volleyball etc. Your athletes were obnoxious to be around. They have all the attention of the university, and if one of your many workout machines broke, I got stupid emails raising money to replace it. Meanwhile, the hot tub remained completely broken for the vast majority of the time I was there, and the pool table lost its balance, and you did NOTHING to resolve the issue, as readily as you did that workout equipment. To make things worse, you forced all the athletes in the library at 7pm regularly, where they would constantly disrupt other students and make lots of noise, despite numerous reprimands. Basically, your rulebook had no teeth whatsoever. It was nothing more than arbitrary. Students were vaping in the dorms, and nothing was done about them. And chapel: let me discuss that. In my freshman year I attended every time no problem. However, by the time of my junior year, I noticed students leaving chapel early against the rules, going on their cell phone, and nobody was openly reprimanded for dissing mandatory chapel. In direct response, I started sneaking out in the middle, knowing I could be put on chapel probation if caught. Why would I do that? Because I didn't want to be there. Nobody else was following the rules or wanted to be there. Why should I care? You don't squeeze God in a busy schedule: you find quiet time, away from everyone else, to reflect on the Word of God. And to make things worse, going to Church on Sunday did NOT count towards mandatory chapel attendance. How are you going to encourage adult students to follow Christ wholeheartedly, if they are penalized for normal church attendance, and forced into chapels full of young people who are much more concerned about the giant lunch line and their next class, compared to the sermon? And last but not least: the students were NOT the most godly individuals, especially the freshman students and student athletes. They were foul mouthed, blasphemous, and did not properly represent the Christian faith and sound doctrine. In fact, during your talent show performance in the evening in either 2013 or 2014, you had a guy openly proposing to another guy, and announcing first gay marriage in KCU, while everyone else cheered. Despicable! That's a blatant violation of both OT and NT. If he had done that 10 years earlier Kris would have arranged to have those 2 wolves in sheep's clothing expelled in a New York second, and now they're flaunting their blasphemy and past affiliation with KCU on Facebook. By the time of my senior year, I was so sick of KCU, that I didn't care about my slipping grades. I just wanted to graduate and move on, and sure enough I did. And don't expect me to donate money to your university. You mismanaged the university finances so badly, that staff had to move on after I left. Support a university without more solid, Christian values and stupid rules that are arbitrarily enforced? Never! As Jesus Christ said in Revelation to the churches: Repent, or I will remove your lampstand from its place."

"I attended this school from 2005-2010. Most of the professors were kind and well intentioned educators who took an active role in the lives of their students. Sadly, many of these people have retired. This university is in the middle of no where. If you live in Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, or Tennessee, you may enjoy attending school here. If you are outside of this geographic area, you may struggle to fit in and find things to do, as Grayson, the city the school is in, is a glorified truck stop. I graduated with $35,000 dollars in debt and want to strongly encourage any student to consider how much debt you may leave with at the end of a four year degree. This was after the GI Bill and a few thousand dollars of payments each semester. I think it is deplorable that KCU straps ministry students with this kind of debt. If you happen to marry someone from the university, like myself, you will most likely marry someone else with an exorbitant amount of debt. Please think through the ramifications of signing up for this debt and how it will impact your life, ministry, and personal finances. It is possible to serve God and attend another Christian school without incurring this kind of debt. Liberty University is a strong Christian school and they are growing. Ultimately, KCU was a great place for me. The best decision I have ever made, outside of following Christ, was marrying my wife. This school provided me with an opportunity to meet her. In hindsight, I would do it all over again. Pros: one on one with professors, solid Christian education, and the opportunity to practice ministry. Cons: small campus, leave with thousands in debt (think 35,000), meal quality, and lousy living accommodations for on campus students. Best of luck to you in your search and God bless."

"The perfect school if you are looking for a small Christian university, but it isn't perfect for everyone. The facilities are nothing special, but the people are. Anyone who wants to have a unique, Christ-centered college career will fit in perfectly. Those looking to let loose and have a crazy time probably won't enjoy it here."
