"I wanted to like this place but had heard the owner was rough on the kids and kept unreasonable rehearsal hours during the school year but my daughter really wanted to try it out. Unfortunately, the things I had heard turned out to be true. My daughter said not only was the owner difficult but the teens/young adult girls that help run things are very insensitive and rude instead of offering constructive criticism or helpful instruction. She told me that at one rehearsal the owner told all the kids that she was tired of getting emails from parents complaining about how mean they were to them and the next person she gets an email from will be asked to leave the show. She had rehearsal 6 nights a week during school and it ran until 9pm. My daughter decided not to go back after her first show. However, I received multiple personal emails from the owner asking me to please bring my daughter to be part of the next show because she feels she has talent and would be a great part of it. Reluctantly my daughter agreed to give her a 2nd chance since she was asking directly & personally for her to return. We couldn't try out until about a week after everyone else. Just a few days after her audition we were asked to pay in full for the performance ($200) before parts would be handed out. I paid via venmo (my 2nd mistake) only to find out she was a tree. Clearly they had already assigned all the parts before her audition. I was very dismayed and asked the owner what happened because she had expressed such an interest in having my daughter be part of the show. She was overly rude and dismissive and said "I send that to everyone." So it was simply a cleverly written ruse just to get more fees. I explained how misleading that was and how disappointed my daughter was but she said that was just too bad. She also refused to refund my $200 even though she was nothing more than a tree and no part of the production had even begun yet. Her costume designer witnessed the entire thing and felt the owner was inappropriate as well agreeing that it was unreasonable and she would return my fee if she could (which she could not since I paid via Venmo, not check). Very unfortunate. The facility is also badly in need of repair."

"A fantastic and truly uplifting experience. It’s a musical theater so there is some drama behind the scenes. However, after having participated and subsequently aging out of the shows being performed here, I can honestly and truly say I have become a better singer, actor, friend, cast member, and all around person. Schoolhouse of Music helped me find myself through teamwork, perseverance, hard work, music, and community. The older kids have a tendency to “adopt” younger kids and take them under their wing and help them through the shows and be a friend to them. The director is a wonderfully sweet woman only one goal — to introduce kids to musical theater. There are always opportunities for growth and development within Schoolhouse of Music. Kids can get involved behind the scenes too! There are always opportunities to help in costumes, makeup, set build and design, sound, lighting, etc. If you spend enough time there, you’ll learn how to do just about everything! Schoolhouse of Music offers a truly inspiring and enriching experience for kids of all ages. I am proud to have been a part of the Schoolhouse family and look forward to one day returning."

"They provide a great opportunity for younger kids to learn to be on stage and to learn how a show comes together. Kids learn responsibility and how to be part of a group."

"Absolutely disgusting facility, during one show I was involved in we found dead cockroaches in the set for the show. The director screams at little children and makes rehearsals last all day long and everyone has to go to every single rehearsal even if their character is not in any of the scenes that are being done. She also allows adults in their 20’s to do shows with children as young as four years old."

"It’s amazing show after show Cindy gets the most out of kids ranging from 5 to 18."
