"I went to IWA from 1966 until 1975 - kindergarten through 8th grade. The sisters taught me much more than how to read and write and perform well on my future SAT's. When I went to Magnificat, I was more than prepared to stand my own ground and cut out my own future for myself. I found my love of Christ through the loving guidance of these nuns who taught me the basics of my religion that has lasted all of these years and has sustained me every day of my life. This is a gift that no other public school could ever provide. This gift was so important, that I sent my five children to IWA. I am proud of all of their accomplishments and I know that they were all initiated into the family of Christ by my husband and I and that relationship was cemented by the sisters and teachers of IWA. Each of my children, by the grace of God, are people who make society a better place. They are contributors. Not seeking what others will give to them but, what they can do for others. I am proud of them and I know that my parents are proud of me. This is all stems from a good, solid foundation based on the Judeo Christian concepts. That is what you will receive from Incarnate Word Academy. That is what you will pass on to others. God bless you as you make this decision for the future of your children. "As a school that has prided itself on STEM, I think IWA is doing a pretty fine job.In the computer lab students learn typing and basic coding, and will have an opportunity to use Tinkercad, a 3D design and printing tool. In both math and science they will be challenged to think outside the box to discover unique solutions to problems. IWA also has many great clubs such as Spelling, Power of the Pen, Classroom of Champions, and many more. So no complaints there. But physical education and various school sports practices and games, which take place in St. Joseph's Hall has lead to injuries in the past, because of how much traction the court lacks. Nevertheless, my overall experience of the school. How was it? Yes, there are a few "interesting" experiences I could tell you about, but what's the point? Your son or daughter will create his or her own experiences, so there is no point in me telling you of mine. I can tell you that it is a academically rigorous school. But who am I to say yes or no? Decide for yourself. Nothing like your child's future should come down to a yes or no answer? I wish you the best of luck in deciding.
