"The service department is kind of all over the place. My husband and I had a Kombi unit in for services as it just kept dying.. the equipment was in for 3 months and they never called not once for any updates or anything, I had to call them, not once, not twice, but THREE time we were told it was fixed and ready to go, and the issue was never actually fixed and two of those times when we went to pick it up we were told “actually it’s not ready” the communication is basically nonexistent in this place. This last time we went to get the unit they said it was ready to go they were “testing it” and would let me know when to come get it… 2 WEEKS went by no call. Finally we call to ask what is up and we’re told again it was ready. We went to pick it up and obviously testing it ourselves before leaving the shop…. Sure enough first time starting it and it did not run. After showing them it still did not work we were basically called liars. Then we’re told it wasn’t marked as done or ready to go? Yet they still handed it to me personally and said it’s ready lol as a company that is supposed to look at diagnose and fix equipment it should have been THEIR JOB to contact the manufacturer and let them know we have tried this this and this for 3 months and this unit is still not working properly because the unit was still under warranty. Did they do that? No. WE contacted the manufacturer ourselves. All in all we were replaced with a brand new unit as they pretty much totaled the old one out. When we were picking up the new unit, we were told we can no longer do business with them? Why? They made it to seem like we were the problem when in reality The service department was the problem. Which I think is terrible customer service. If the unit was NOT ABLE TO BE FIXED, all they had to do was say that and I would have then taken my equipment to another service department. Not to mention we take our stuff in with brand new parts, and clean, and they try to give it back all banged up and claim they only tested it one day. I’m sorry you can not physically damage something so terrible in one day unless you’re literally throwing it across the parking lot over and over again. All in all I had nothing but good things to say about this store and the employees until this experience. I hope you all take this review into consideration when taking your expensive equipment in to be serviced. This store will not take credit for their mess ups! Nor will they apologize when they are proved to have messed up. I will gladly be taking my business somewhere else. Oh and I forgot to mention they say they have no time to test equipment they are servicing so they let their mowing crew take them out mowing even when they aren’t fixed but yet they have time sit and smoke cigarettes. Very unprofessional."

"We went to Al Joes and have been using them for the last 3 years for supplies and other parts and have never had an issue other than repairs. We took a blower and a Kombi unit to be repaired, the blower we had a good experience even though it still bogged down but we took it back in and they adjusted it and it worked. The trimmer took them 3 months to even call me (obviously we had to call them and STHIL). We get to the shop and they say (she’s ready to go!) I fire the trimmer up in the parking lot and it died instantly you couldn’t even squeeze the trigger on it or it would die so I took it back in. The service guy said it was running fine and that they have been RUNNING IT OUT IN THE FIELD for months but the owner said it was only out on a truck for a day but it was beat to hell and back. I did not even want to make this review because I loved Al joes and used them alot but this just rubbed me the wrong way. I had to contact STHIL after they emailed me asking how my experience was and I told the truth. It took OVER 3 months when they said 8 to 10 days to get a phone call, talk to someone, or for them to even put the parts on and then gave it back not even operational. I take great care of all my equipment and I have been in business since 2016 full time and have never left a bad review in my life. At the end of going to their place of service (15 times) I finally got to talk to Sophie and got it resolved with STHIL after I reached out to legal services on what to do because they couldn’t even tell me where my trimmer was. STHIL ended up saying to replace it because they could not fix the one we brought in, mind you it ran when we brought it in and only had 6 months of use total. We still paid for service but they said we were now banned because of this issue? Why were we banned! Their literal words were (STHIL said we shouldn’t do business together anymore because of this issue) STHIL said they did not say that but they wouldn’t go back there regardless and we agreed but it’s just shocking that we were told that and we were the ones that took the loss and went through the horrible experience. They nor STHIL wanted to take responsibility so they just kept putting it off on one another and playing both sides. I have to let people know about this experience because it was absolutely horrible and ridiculous to be treated like that and have our equipment being used out on their routes. I had a great experience with Mike the owner but he is out because of surgery and it’s a zoo at the moment. Everyone standing around smoking cigarettes but they said they didn’t have time to test the equipment out front so that’s why they sent it out on a truck. I have everything documented , videos, pictures etc. even phone calls. You may think it’s just a trimmer but it’s a $500 piece of equipment . I even told them I would take it somewhere else if they couldn’t resolve the problem and he said “no I got it here let me mess with it a little more “ it wouldn’t of been as bad if they didn’t try to make us feel as though we were the problem. Sophie also said she didn’t even know our trimmer was even being serviced until the last day we came in. Please explain the ban? We never yelled, cursed, or even talked bad about them. We only called them 4-5 times in 3 1/2 months. We tried to let STHIL handle it but nothing was being done. They really tried to send me home with a broken trimmer when it came in for carb work/warranty work. To me that’s the same thing as taking a car in for a oil change and sending it out with no oil lol or taking it in to be serviced and you see someone driving your car? How are we in the wrong I am confused? Thanks for finally resolving the issue though. This could of been resolved by at least reaching out to us but not one phone call we got 2 text messages the whole time. I know I’m rambling at this point but it’s a lot that went on and I’m still trying to figure out what we did to make them ban us."
