Deseo Modern Mexican is a family-owned restaurant located at 3137 Central Avenue in Toledo, Ohio. Co-owned and managed by Luis Haro, who has over 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, Deseo Modern Mexican offers a unique and modern take on traditional Mexican cuisine.
Inspired by his hometown of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Luis has worked at top restaurants in Chicago and Perrysburg before finally realizing his dream of owning his own restaurant. With the support of his family, including his wife Krystyn, mother-in-law Lori, and father-in-law Rich, Deseo Modern Mexican brings a coastal, Mexican tapas menu to the Toledo area.

"Came here for Saturday brunch at noon and was very impressed. Ordered the breakfast tacos and the pablano Benedict. Both were phenomenal. Pictured is the Benedict. And my mimosa smiled back at me."
"What a great experience! Deseo was easily able to accommodate our party of 12. Our server was awesome and she was attentive to our big group. The food was amazing and came out promptly for such a large group. The drinks were delicious and I would highly recommend the Pina margarita. Our favorite, hands down, were their appetizers and the Tartara de Atun stole the show! Thank you for making our Birthday dinner such a success!"
"Well deserved 5 star review they checked every box for an excellent brunch for two. The service was great, and our waitress was friendly. Food was extremely flavorful and was brought in a proper and timely fashion. They brought me my Huevo Rancheros, and it seemed like directly after they brought a deliciously crisp loaded plate of French Toast. I live for local establishments like these! They are personable and care about QUALITY food."
"First time visit and was extremely impressed. There are not many Mexican food, fine dining experiences in TOLEDO. But now I have found one. The menu is not your typical 60 items, but instead a curated list of finally crafted specialties. The same can be said about the cocktails. The food was delicious, ample portioned, in filling. For as busy as this restaurant was, which was very (reservation highly encouraged), the service was terrific.). The small biz vibe and limited seating keeps host engaged and insight of customers the entire time. Will definitely visit again"
