"I knew my laptop was having issues and was trying to move files to an external hard drive when I received a black screen and a message that the hard drive had failed and I should backup my files so I didn’t lose them. Not knowing how to do that with my laptop in that state, I carried my laptop with the external drive into ALS like a mother carrying a child into an ER.
