Regions Bank

"I took my 11 year old to cash a check from her grandma (who banks at Regions bank). We sat in the drivethru for 10 minutes then went inside. (waited again for 10 minutes inside). The check was from Regions bank (which is where I was). My daughter is a minor so she doesn't have an account there and neither do I. I wanted to introduce her to banking and how to cash her own check. We had her ID but I was asked for my ID as well. The cashier took her check and ran it thru then comes back to the counter to inform us that there is a $5 fee to cash a check (from their own bank where I am at). I told her no that was ridiculous. She puts a piece of sticky paper on the back of the check and says I can still take it to my own bank to try to cash it. First off, when did companies start charging to cash their own dang checks? Second off, this was a wake up call for my 11 year old to show her how companies will try to steal your money at every chance. Don't bank here."
