Our journey began with our founder, Acir, who started assembling bikes for Canadian Tire in Toronto, Canada, and eventually started refurbishing bikes in his kitchen in Miami. As the business grew, Acir's passion for cycling led him to buy a small bike shop in Clearwater, Florida, which quickly became popular for his expert knowledge and friendly service.
Today, The Bike Shop is one of the most trusted bike stores in the area, with a loyal customer base. We focus on helping workers, students, and anyone looking to get back into biking. When a boxed bike arrives at The Bike Shop, it undergoes a meticulous process of assembly and tuning by Acir. From greasing wheel bearings to truing wheels and adjusting derailleurs and brakes, each bike is transformed into a finely-tuned machine ready to tackle the road or trail. "This place and the owner are really great. I got my bike maybe 4-5 years ago and had never had it tuned up. When I brought my bike in, Acir checked it out immediately. He was very attention to detail and very willing to take the time to explain to me how each part I inquired about works. I was impressed with his competence, knowledge and affinity for bikes. My bike needed a lot of love, especially because my biggest concern is safety as I ride my two-year-old son around in a seat located in front of me on the bike. Acir had the work done before the day was over requiring replacing about 8 parts or more - he also stayed in contact with me, keeping me updated on his progress via text. Upon picking up my bike, it looked brand new. Acir took the time to clean grease and grime off all parts, in between the gears and within areas I did not expect him to. The shop itself is very clean and as is Acir - very professional, friendly and attentive. I’ll be bringing my husband’s bike here in the near future and will 100% be referring my friends/anyone to The Bike Shop. Super reasonable prices and an excellent experience - he also threw in a bell for free! Thank you, Acir!"
