University Club

"I love the concept of UC as a gay bar and the top floor is fantastic. The bartenders are great. However in the bottom floor the music is jarring and just generally bad. I appreciate a departure from other gay bars but the mixing by the DJ can only be described as chaotic and cacophony. So much room for improvement. The music feels worse than the music you would hear at a straight bar. Even arcade bar around the corner has gayer music than this.it's unfortunately appalling. A change of DJ or at least whatever playlist he's hitting play on would be very much beneficial for this bar. Edit: the new dj is much better. That really brought the vibes up"

"I wish I could give this place a higher rating, but do to a few things I've noticed I cannot... I've noticed that there is lack of communication within the management and the security team (the security team is wonderful though) that causes the atmosphere to feel stressful at times. Than the lack of AC used during some nights, makes it feel like a sauna and people have passed out from it more then once (I saw this happening 3 times in one night). The drag performances are amazing on the other hand, but I feel like people just don't respect that the performers need the floors open during their show (meaning I've seen people block off the stairs where some of them like to perform). Otherwise this place is a really good place to visit no matter your walk of life and sexuality. I'd just honestly like to see more then two security guards on shift at a time, so it feels safer and that way things are easier to be managed within the club, plus a sign on the front door may help some people know that the entryway is in the back of the building (I think this would also help security be able to do their job more efficiently as well). ** *** **** Below are some of the photos, I've taken and have noticed the stairs being blocked off by people."

"UC management supports racism against black people. A little white girl literally walks by me and tells me move n word your standing too close to me, in a packed full capacity dance club. She then runs and tells the security she was scared and they wanna kick me out. If your black this will happen to you here and they literally dont care or even offer to hear my side of the story. They tried to tell me she didnt call me the n word."
