"Negligent, reckless, unethical, and out-of-control local branch of national commercial motor vehicle gravel distributor. On May 19, 2022, at approximately 6:45 AM, I was traveling southbound on US-Hwy 17. I had my lights on, the weather was clear and cool, and I was traveling under the speed limit by about 5 mph. As I approached the Argos facility on my right hand side, a large commercial vehicle accident the gravel compound turning left (northbound), violating my right-of-way. I honked my horn and flashed my lights, but the vehicle continue forward. I was almost decapitated by going under the trailer. I then did a U-turn and pulled into the facility and calmly asked to speak to a supervisor/manager foreman on-duty that I was very concerned about the incident that had just happened. A young foreman looking no older than 25 years old, white, blond shaved head, about 5 foot 10 inches somewhat overweight. He smirked and chuckled and was entirely dismissive of me and had no concern whatsoever about what I just told him. There were surveillance cameras that recorded the exchange and that should be easily viewed by Argos‘s safety manager to documenting the conversation. I explained that I was deeply concerned that this could happen to somebody else and seriously injure them or kill them. Despite that, Argos’s site foreman continued to be childish and refused to do anything to respond as I requested. He should immediately be fired, the professional commercial vehicle operator should immediately be fired if employed by Argos, and if not, the contract with his or her company to transport the gravel should immediately be canceled. Moreover, Argos should and must by state and federal law and FMCSR rules file a formal report of this incident with the state highway patrol’s DOT commercial vehicle compliance division, and take all reasonable action to ensure that this incident or one similar never happens again. I called the company‘s safety compliance office this morning, and nobody responded and it just went to voicemail. In my opinion, Argos is a reckless, dangerous company and should be avoided at all costs because of its careless attitude toward the cost to human life when negligent and reckless behavior is not swiftly given the corrective action required."
