"I have been on two tours with Captain Ray of Native Tours through the Dora Canal. Both times my friends thoroughly enjoyed Captain Ray's knowledge of the area, learning the history, learning about the water birds and just enjoying a peaceful day out on a pontoon boat. I found this tour to be fun as it is more private than being on a large pontoon with a bunch of people you do not know. Native Tours takes out a minimum of 2 people to a maximum of 6 people. If you want to enjoy the Dora Canal without a bunch of people getting in front of your view, this is the only way to go."

"Found ourselves in Tavares for a last minute outing and called Ray. I don't think he has a fixed schedule and he won't go out during the weekend when it is apparently quite crowded. If you have two or more people, if he is available, he will take you for a 1 1/2 hour tour. Most of the time is in the canal, slow and peaceful. Because of the private nature of the trip, Ray's narrative and discussion is tailored to as little or as much as you want. Short jaunt into Lake Dora, watched a sea plane take off and then back to base through the canal. Inexpensive and delightful time."
