It was a big job (we had him do a knockdown finish and paint on all but one of the rooms in our house) but the APPS crew was efficient, the work was beautiful, and the finished product was even better than we had imagined. "Michael is a personable guy. He'll talk your ear off if you give him half a chance. That's the only negative thing I can say about my dealings with AP&PS. Michael always returned my calls, showed up on time, and did an excellent job of painting the exterior of my house. A lot of guys could do that, though, and the thing that sets Michael above the crowd is that he listened to my concerns and followed up on them. For instance, when I moved into our house there was NO landscaping, and so every plant you see, I personally planted it. Also the ones that died before I planted these. I asked him to be careful with the plants, and of course, he said he would. I fully expected to see them all trampled after the work was done, but he took great care to see that they were not damaged. I really appreciated that. He also did extra work, such as painting a concrete wall next to the property, all on his own. I couldn't recommend Michael highly enough. You'll get quality work and hear a few good stories as well."

"I had a large project consisting of demo of a massive built in entertainment center to fit a big tube tv, with many shelves and electrical running throughout these shelves, with ceiling lights to boot. It was built around an old fireplace in the center and took up the entire 13x10 wall. I'm sure this thing was the subject of envy of the entire neighborhood back in the day. The demo of the shelving revealed the wall behind it was gutted to run the various wires . Ditto ceiling as the lights were punched in through the attic leaving big holes. On the floor, we had an elevated tile platform extended out several feet and ran the entire width of wall where the fire place and the built in rested on top of. My kitchen cabinets that were attached to the built in had one side completely ripped out exposing an abyss which led to somewhere underneath my kitchen sink. This is the state the area was in when I began my search for a general contractor to remove the fireplace, demo the elevated tile, fix all of the holes in the wall and ceiling, restore the side panels of the cabinets that were ripped out, and paint everything in the area (cabinets, wall, ceiling). I wanted there to just be a wall where I can mount a tv and put a low profile entertainment stand beneath it. Basically the exact opposite of what was there when I bought the house. I reached out to my realtor for a referral and she sent me Mike with American Painting & Property Service. I called him and spoke to him briefly about my job, and even though he was across the bridge in st pete he drove all the way over to honor the referral. That instantly struck me as someone who cares about his network and I soon learned that extends to his customers. This was huge to me because as a new home owner I have made many calls to contractors for different things, and oftentimes I have seen that those that were in st pete would simply say "no we aren't going over to tampa that is too far" even though their web site says they service Tampa, and even worse when I mentioned someone referred them it made no difference. During the estimate, he asked questions about how we want the final product to look, gave us some recommendations, and gave us very fair quote right on the spot. He even got on the phone with his electrician to expedite what we needed done with the wiring. Within a couple days after that I hired him for the job and was able to make time in his schedule to give me the 3 days it took to do the job. He arrived each day bright and early and got right to work. Throughout the project he let me know what was going on, and if i needed to do anything. For example, when he took the fireplace out if naturally left a hole to the exterior where the exhaust was. Rather than patching himself, he recommended I have a stucco guy come out and fix that area since that wasn't his specialty. Additionally, as the project neared the end, he indicated he was not happy yet how the incredible amount of "mud" he put into certain parts of the wall was drying, and rather than just get to painting over it while still partially wet, he graciously moved his schedule around to let the thing dry for another night and come back another day to paint when he was totally comfortable with that mud being dry. It shows that he truly has the customer's best interest in mind as opposed to just rushing to complete the job and move on to the next. After 3 days of demoing, drywalling and patching ceilings, fixing cabinets, and painting the whole thing, the project was at last complete and it looks absolutely fantastic. It was just as I envisioned it. He really did a remarkable job on it, like magic! If you are looking for general contractor work , you wont go wrong with American Painting & Property Service.
