H&R Block

"In 2022 I paid $250+ for Nestor to do my taxes explaining to him that I wanted him to set it up so next year I can do it myself on HR Block. He said no problem. 2023 comes around and now they have new software and are unable to tell me the information I require from the services I already paid for last year. The software doesn't import last year's information so I have to start from scratch not knowing what selections Nestor picked and having to redo the depreciation values. Brenda apologized for Nestor and said the only way they can "help me" now is if I pay again this year and then the software will magically import the necessary information. My question is since it auto populates my information after I pay, will it be cheaper this year!? I do not recommend this place as their knowledge is limited to the basics. Brenda couldn't even explain the safe harbor to me she told me to Google it because it was to difficult for her to explain it. All I needed to know was what I already paid for. I called HRblock 800 customer service and they said it was an office problem as they did my taxes in block works vs myblock; therefore, it wouldn't import for me and there was nothing they could do. This came after 3 escalation attempts and hours on the phone with customer service. That was an entire other negative experience. The office is not willing to do anything for me to resolve this issue that originated with them and their software. Kathy, the office manager was very nice; however, she stated that this was outside her abilities as well and referred me to Brenda."

"I didn't go there. I drove by there to get to my destination. I have an Accountant that does my taxes for me every year. He works out of his home on the Cape and charges me $60.00 every year to file. His fee might've gone up this year as everything else has. $8.59 for a quart of Miracle Whip anyone?? If you can pay $37.50 for three perfect boneless Rib eye steaks (1 1/2" thick) at Winn Dixie you don't have to worry about the reasonable fee he charges. I didn't get the steaks as much as I admired them. I got chicken. If I eat anymore chicken I'm gonna grow feathers! He sends off my completed 1040 form as I watch him. I pay him his fee and tell him I'll see him next year. Easy Peasy."

"When I called to make appt, they were very accommodating on my limited time. They made the appt within two days. Also they were very enthusiastic on who i would be with."
