"This is the second year that Jackson Hewitt has screwed up our taxes overcharged us and not helped when there was an issue. Our stimulus wasn’t included even though they said it was straight. They advertised 179.00 cost but then charged us more than that when we were told something different. We had additional questions and their answer was we don’t know. Most of our income was unemployment due to the pandemic and they charged us huge fees like 600 for tax prep."

"In 2017 Abigail at the Plantation Pointe branch prepared my standard taxes for me. She asked appropriate questions and offered suggestions to increase the amt of my return. Wonderful experience and all in a little under an hour. NOW, in June 2017 I returned to have JH prepare 2014 taxes I apparently never filed, oops :) I brought the taxes just done at this office, a letter from the IRS stating exactly what they needed and where to return them. Also had all dependent information on an index card ready to go. Walking into an empty office at 1:50pm the only employee was on the phone and it was 2:15 before we began. Not a problem with that as she was the only employee there this day. Never asking any questions, first she assumed that my 3 minor children were all from different fathers since I was a divorced 43 yr old mother to 3 ( I am college educated and work full time in healthcare) not currently receiving child support. Trying to let that comment slide..the one thing she asked and asked TWICE, was " was I certain I did not receive any government assistance. Both times I assured her I did not at any point receive assistance. After answering multiple phone calls that lasted between 2-12 min and leaving to give assistance the phone calls eat. Never ever stating " I'm so sorry to have to leave u blah blah" or to the calls and walk ins, " I'm with someone in the middle of filing can I take your name and # and call you back..". @ 3:40 I left with a $300 out of pocket charge from Jackson Hewitt (unable to deduct from old taxes or efile), an envelope with my return to take to the post offic and not so much as a thank you for being patient or I'm sorry we were interrupted so many times, nothing. I was so upset for allowing myself to pay $300 for such services. This person actually said Daphne was her main office and just her turn to do the one day in Fairhope. I will not provide her name as embarrassing or upsetting her personally is not my intention."
