"I booked a full body hair removal via ClassPass. If you are melanated, don’t think about it. The technician doesn’t use a laser machine for our skin type. It’s a broad spectrum IPL machine that is not suitable for dark skin. I wish I had gone to a dermatologist before this appointment. The pain was off the charts. I have burn marks that my dermatologist and esthetician confirmed is not “normal” as the person who performed the service tried to convince me. Let this be a lesson to us all, especially POC, to do our research and walk out if someone is literally ignoring your pain. Being burned is not a normal result of laser hair removal. It is a side effect of an IPL that isn’t performed by a board certified dermatologist."
