Classic Collections, Sanibel

"Unfortunately, and while most Sanibel store owners and staff are so hospitable and lovely, something is definitely "off" here at Classic Collections. I've been in twice within a week and have been even embarrassed for one lady (apparently the owner) who appears bitter or has no clue of customer importance. I felt like an intruder and not a welcomed guest. Geez guys...smile & be grateful!"

"I visited this store and was in there about 15 mins. I was making a decision about wind chimes when a woman approached and said I had to put on a mask. I told her that due to a significant and verifiable medical condition, I was unable to do that. I also told her that I was familiar with the city ordinance and it very clearly had exemptions for medical conditions. I asked to speak with a manager and she claimed to be the manager. I asked to speak with the owner and she said he wasn't there. I asked for contact information bc she was violating my rights according to the ADA. She said it is private property and that the owner doesn't want anyone in thete without a mask. I again asked for his name and number. She told me I would have to wait outside. I did. She then approached the door and gave me a business card for the store but it had no person's name on it. She told me the owner was Mark. I called the number and it was the business's answering machine with a woman's voice that sounded strangely familiar to the manager's voice. Hmmm. I did leave a message for this mysterious "Mark" but have not heard back from him. This is very disturbing that a person is descriminated against bc of a medical condition. I strongly encourage people to avoid the inauthentic environment of Classic Collections. They claim to be one thing but really are something else. I will say that all the other shops in Periwinkle Plaza gave me no issue after I simply explained my situation. They were actually very understanding and respectful."

"This shop has wonderful gifts and interesting things, however, the staff leaves much to be desired. They are extremely rude and beyond condescending. They were rude to my 4 year old son for playing with the windchime that's on the door. Woe be unto them if they ever have children of their own. Last year when my mother and I were in the store, one of the owners rushed back to make sure "we were finding everything ok". I'm sure since I have tattoos she assumed we were stealing. It is a very unwelcoming place. I wouldn't go in there again if it weren't for the cute stuff."
