"Honestly its a damn shame that St. Leo and the county hasnt fixed this spot up nice. From the older pictures it looks like it used to be nice. Its got a lot of potential to be a beautiful spot to relax and fish but the weeds/grass are terrible and the smell of the water is awful. Im sure there are fishermen that attend the university that would use this spot"

"No pier! Very small area to fish. Only 1 line at a time…. Yet shallow. This area should be renamed Rec Area. It has picnic area and bathrooms which is nice… and a place to put in a kayak."

"The only public access to Lake Jovita. The old fishing pier was torn down in 2023 for safety. The City of San Antonio might replace it."

"Very nice for kayaking. Has a little low area to transition your kayak to the water. Gets deep real fast. Nice and quiet. I only saw turtles in the water and few fishes."
