"Steve at the ship store is amazing and very helpful! However, that’s about as far as it goes. We had two major issues while we were there. First issue- Our boat was in a slip for several days then we had our boat hauled for survey. At that point we had her placed in the boat yard for about a week and a half conducting some needed maintenance, bottom paint, etc. When it came time to pay, we were charged as if we were in the yard the entire time, PLUS the days we were in the wet slip. We brought that to their attention and they DID fix that overcharge and apologized for the mistake. Second issue - once we splashed, we decided to stay for two more days at a slip. Come to find out they charge you the full day’s fee for the wet slip AND the boat yard, essentially double dipping, so the customer has to pay double any time you’re hauled from a wet slip!!! So we payed double coming in AND going out-charged 4 days fees for two days. They explained the haul out double dipping as the two entities (boat yard and Barber Marina) as being separate businesses. Yet if you look at the website, they present it as all being part of Barber Marina and say nothing about the double dipping they will do to you if you haul out. Like many of the negative reviews have said, they seem scandalous in overcharging when they can. It’s a lovely marina, and Steve is beyond measure in helpfulness and responsivity, however the overcharging seems ridiculous given the scale of the Marina and the concept of customer service in general. Shame on you Barber Marina!!! - Miss Kate II"

"Okay, I know this place claims to be a public marina. But I suspect it's something else. I mean, it's beautiful. It has a long, manicured drive into it. Elegant fountain. Sculpture abounds. Dinosaurs guard the entry. Large, gleaming white buildings. A helipad. Clearly, it's the secret headquarters of a James Bond supervillain! I couldn't find the secret underground mansion, missile silos, or the submarine pens. But I know they're there. They must be. Calling 007!"

"Not only a marina but a fun place to go on a hunt for different sculptures for free. Some you can see from the street. Others you have to park on the side of the street or in parking area nearby and walk (not far) to see. You can tell where they are by the paths created by others. Some areas have no trespassing signs posted so be aware of that. Otherwise, go and check it out and you'll find something interesting. The hardest one to find was the Knights in the Woods. But Google can get you there if you search for the names of the different sculptures. Unfortunately, I didn't have service in the area and I had only Googled a couple prior to arriving. So, the next hardest one which I kept passing up, was the Brontosaurus. It's on the opposite side of the street from the other dinosaurs down a bit once you pass the T-Rex. Look for the path into the Woods. Happy hunting."

"Barber Marina is a massive complex with numerous attractions including dinosaurs in the woods, the Lady in the Lake, Bamahenge, knights in armor, and the marina itself. Yes, the Lady in the Lake is back...freshly restored!! I'm not a boater, but it appears that the marina is kept in top condition. There's a lot of new construction going on, too. Very impressive visit and I hope to return when boating season kicks off."

"Nice marina. We were out riding the bike and tripped across the place. They’ve got a little store to get the essentials for a day on the water but I didn’t see a restaurant. Very clean and well maintained. They have a service to pull your boat out of storage and put it back when your done. There a little antique motor collection which was interesting. Lots of sea themed statues."
