"We have a loud noise near the motor. Brought the old motor in to inspect. Roberto files down an internal cylinder that wasn’t allowing a free spin. We reinstall the old motor, same noise. Regardless of this filing it had nothing to do with the problem. The old motor moved the water no problem just with noise. Roberto then says we need a new motor. We install the new motor and we have the exact same noise. I have video of the old motor moving water with noise and I have a video of the new motor moving water with noise. We did NOT need a new motor. We then get the “oh well when you diagnose you come with this problem and maybes it’s this, we would need to send someone out for $200” but send the videos. No, same problem the whole time. We provided the videos to Pinch a Penny (Roberto), no call back. So we have a $400 motor we didn’t need, they kept the old motor. Unbelievably frustrating. We are so over people who think they are slick with smooth talk and that we don’t understand when it’s occurring."

"Let me start off by saying this, this store and staff are the best. I came in on a Tuesday and had trouble with my pump. I talked to Roberto and he was very helpful. I also had a water test done and the tester,Kim, was so sweet and nice. She really knows her stuff. There was also a nice guy,Kelly. He was so nice and took the time to help me out. The prices are a little pricey, but so is everything else now a days. I should also mention that Randall is very sweet and good at those chlorine jugs. He helped me out to my car and told me about his stories."

"I've been a customer for a few years now, and have tried my best to work with these people. I would sincerely advise you to steer clear of this company / location. They can't hold employee's due to poor management, meaning they send out a new inexperienced tech every other week. They take no responsibility for your pool's condition, even while charging $100+ a month. It was refreshing to see in the reviews I wasn't the only one who felt this way. Don't be a victim to this poorly ran business, spend your money elsewhere."

"Had the old DE filter replaced by the silica filter. Unfortunately, the technician didn't pull the bottom plug out of the filter. This caused all the DE power to back wash into the pool. When this was pointed out, the tech said he'd be back to clean the pool. He was fired the next day, and no one has come out to assist. When I came into the store to show Dan the pics I just posted, I was told to backwash and vacuum or pay more for a tech to come clean up the mess they left. Time and money wasted. Update: Pinch a Penny came out to clean the pool without the adapter they needed. That was over 2 weeks ago."

"I’ve been paying $119/month for water testing, adding chemicals, emptying skimmer and filter baskets and cleaning the cartridge pump filter as needed. The photos are from today; supposedly they were here two hours ago per their confirmation email to service my pool which, as stated above, includes emptying debris from the filter basket. It is obvious this isn’t being done. This is not the first time I’ve suspected poor quality service, just the first time I’ve remembered to check same day. I’ve terminated my service with them and would not recommend to anyone looking for residential pool maintenance."
