"Be careful with the Panthers. Do not hike alone. Carry a big stick. Do not run or crouch when you see or hear a panther. Beautiful ! lots of deer "
"Me and a friend walked this trail during the Florida python challenge looking for Burmese pythons at night but unfortunately saw none. It was a very beautiful and well kept trail with no standing water. Beware though, there are alligators in the swamp on both sides of the trail while you're walking through the forest section during the beginning of the trail. We had one come out of the water and approach us rather quickly to say we weren't welcome in his territory. Just be mindful that this is their home and they will defend it. Otherwise, beautiful trail once it opens up into the grassland area on the back half of the pathway."
"Great lace for an easy hike or bike ride. 2-1/2 miles out to an old oil well platform. Nothing much to see but a nice open area surrounded by a huge open prairie interspersed with cypress domes. Right now it’s dry enough to walk off the two track hard trail into a cypress dome. Look carefully to see alligators on north side in the ditch for the first mile. Lots of fresh animal tracks abound here and plenty of native wild flowers. Go soon as it’s getting hot early this year. Bring at least two liters of water for the five mile total hike. Bring a lunch and eat it in the pad at the end. The road stays mostly dry even in the wet times of the year."
"Nice long elevated trail through the glades that ends in an elevated field that deer visit. Good for a bike ride, nature viewing, or hunting. Be careful with the Panthers in the area, word is that they are not scared of people."
"Nice manicured trail. Once you get in a 1/4 mile or so to the west of Turner River Road the cell service is great! There's plenty of nature to see, but it's better for birds in the 1st quarter of the year. And you have to be very careful with Alligators around late June to August as they get quite aggressive during mating season, and there's a canal that runs along the length of the 1st section of trail."
