Cedar Key Scrub State Reserve is a 5,000 acre park located in Cedar Key, Florida. This tourist attraction offers 13 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The reserve is home to twelve natural communities, including the rare Florida scrub, which provide excellent opportunities for wildlife observation. Visitors can spot Florida scrub-jays, gopher tortoises, and bald eagles in their natural habitats. The western boundary of the reserve features tidal marshes, perfect for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Access to the marshes is available at the FWC Senator George Kirkpatrick Marine Laboratory boat ramp in Cedar Key. With two trailheads for easy access, Cedar Key Scrub State Reserve is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.

"Not a destination but Ok if looking for a mountain bike ride or hike. The challenge is that several of the well established roads/trails now end barbwire and no trespassing signs so you have to turn back. Also, both my wife and I got a tire puncture resulting in slow leak during the trip, not sure what caused it along the route. (Won’t hold it against Key Scrub) We did not go along the shoreline. Suggest you look at All Trails app to see some of the trail options but not all were marked and some trails were obviously made by 4x4s recently."

So no, I don't want your number No, I don't want to give you mine and No, I don't want to meet you nowhere No, I don't want none of your time No, I don't want no scrub All jokes aside, I was excited to hike here....but, it's not what you want..... it's bad. Really bad. Basically plowed service roads, control burn areas and abandoned equipment.... We did get a cute tractor pic with our dog. ."
"Camping nearby, I wanted to check this out for riding some trails with my 29er mountain bike. This is DEFINITELY not for bikes or even hiking. The trails are almost all sugar sand, with some hard packed areas. Definitely catered to equestrian use. I made it halfway around the loop and encountered a large mudhole with no way around and had to double back to exit the park."
"Trails easily marked. Sticky burrs for the pups on a cut off slowed us down. Paths are loose sand, but very walkable"
"Pretty views and a nice, serene walk. The trails were recently tilled, so they’re a little challenging, but this makes for a nice stop before or after a visit to Cedar Key."
