About the Business

The Barnacle Historic State Park

The Barnacle Historic State Park is a charming museum and park located at 3485 Main Highway in Miami, Florida. This beautiful house, built in 1891, offers a glimpse into frontier life during the Era of the Bay. Once the home of Ralph Middleton Munroe, a prominent pioneer in Coconut Grove, the property has been preserved in its natural state with many large, old trees and replicas of Munroe's sailboats. Visitors can enjoy outdoor concerts, picnics on the lawn, walks along tree-lined paths, and relaxing on the spacious front porch while watching sailboats go by. Admission is $2 per pedestrian or bicyclist, with children ages 5 and under admitted for free. Come and experience a simpler time at The Barnacle Historic State Park.

"Beautiful site and setting magically tucked away right in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Coconut Grove. Awesome for events and concerts."

"We recently attended a Jimmy Buffet tribute by the Tall Boys. It was fantastic! I would recommend for future venues, placing the stage towards the bottom of the hill instead of up by the main house. I think the view is much nicer and would provide a natural stadium seating for the event. The staff was very friendly. Overall, it was a great evening."

"The Barnacle Historic State Park is an absolute gem! The serene atmosphere and lush surroundings make it an incredibly relaxing destination. I appreciate that they are pet-friendly, allowing me to enjoy the tranquility with my furry friend. The well-maintained trails and historic charm create a unique experience. Whether you're seeking a peaceful stroll or a bit of history, this park has it all. It's a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a calm and pet-welcoming outdoor retreat."

"We were walking down the main street when we noticed the park signs. We decided to head down the path of absolute beauty & take a few photos. About 1/2 way down the path we were stopped by a lady who said we had to pay by credit card to go any further. We found this quite odd since nothing said you had to pay anywhere? We didn't know if it was reL or not and since we were under time constraints, we decided against going. We wanted to return later, but the thought of paying another $20.00 to park our vehicle for another hour or two was simply outrageous. The part we did see was absolutely beautiful, but maybe next time."
