"Walk out and back or do a short 30 minute stroll around the first loop. Expand to a longer 50 minute loop (more if you take advantage of benches and overlooks to sit, converse, take pics, etc.) Or take the hike to Robinson Preserve and hike or bike for miles. An accessible jewel of Florida habitat. Look for gopher tortoises, spoonbills, Yellow-crowned Night herons and ospreys."
"Excellent well maintained trail along several habitats with lots of wildlife. Not many folks on the trail today. Bikes not allowed. Some benches here and there. We came for birding and walking in nature and were not disappointed as we saw ospreys, blue gray nat catchers, prairie and palm warblers, wood ducks, yellow crown night heron, snowy egret, red wing black birds and turtles. After completing the loop trail (allow about 1- 1/2 grid leisure walking) a connection trail goes to the larger more trafficked Robinsons preserve. Or head back to the parking lot and drive down and across the street to a smaller preserve called Neal preserve."
"Perico Preserve, when combined with Robinson Preserve is a place you really want to check out if you are in the area. There are about 7 miles worth of cycling between the 2 preserves. The trails are easy to navigate through on a hybrid bike. Plenty of casual riders on the trails. There are also trails specifically set aside for walking by parking your bike at the starting points. This gives walkers the best t opportunity to view wildlife. If you’re adventurous, there is the option of renting a kayak and paddling through the preserve. 3 great options or do them all!"
"Wow! This is the most beautiful preserve i’ve visited in Florida so far! Very serene and quiet. Free entry, sadly no dogs are allowed, no public restrooms but there’s a porta potty in the parking lot. Limited parking so there’s a possibility you’ll have to wait on the weekends if it’s busy! Overall a very nice nature trail to either walk or bike!"
"Another section of the Robinson Nature Preserve. Shorter part, no water. Some seating and cool views. If u want to park on small rocks instead of ground go here i guess. Traffic is also horrible getting in. No people though."
