"Stayed here before and it was bad then. They raised the price since then. The wife tells me $120 plus tax. Then the husband says $120 plus tax, and a $50 deposit. THEN says it's $50 deposit in cash only. Very rude, and when I remarked of how it wasn't like that before, he told me to leave. Terrible people with dirty rooms and roaches."
"After we checked in we went to our room to use the bathroom before we brought our suitcases in. Good thing. We found live cockroach in the bathroom. We asked for a refund but they refused. We would not stay. No way are we taking those little buggers home with us. Very poor service."
"$120 a night, stayed here for a work trip. After a long day came back to the room only to find it was infested with cockroaches. The hotel owner came in and doused the room with spray raid and then left like that would do anything. Lost count of how many roaches I saw. Had to thoroughly shake out all my stuff to make sure none were in there"
"We went for cheap price as we were looking for one- night accommodation, but this was a serious mistake. Located on the edge of busy US-27, we encountered the expected "Kings of the Road crazies" blasting off from the traffic light 150 yds away from the hotel. But this was not the worst part. The manager/ staff living spaces were situated above our room, and, apparently, they don't sleep at all. We heard ppl walking back and forth above us all night, on cracking wooden floors, that sounded like they were about to crash thru the ceiling anytime. Loud phone conversation at 2:45am, loud chatting in the escape stairs in the back from 4 to 5am. A total nightmare, that is, if we had been allowed to sleep! In conclusion, unless you are a very heavy sleeper, or you intend to be noisier than them, avoid Budget Inn of Avon Park at all costs."
