Fox Den Country Inn

"This motel was a budget pick for a quick overnight as we visited a friend in Eustis, which was a very quick ride away. I much preferred staying in Umatilla because the traffic was lighter here and it's a 1 minute walk to the little town where we were able to get a great dinner and breakfast. See my other reviews on those establishments. The room was clean and adequate. If I had been been paying a bit more I would complain about some minor things, but for the price, this is absolutely a very good option. The bed was comfortable and there were enough pillows and covers. Everything in the room worked. To be candid, the room itself was a little bit outdated. But again, for the price it was just fine. We didn't love the placement of the air conditioner/heater. It was on a level with your head when you were laying down in bed. I find that to be treacherous! I ended up turning it off at night. There was no service at the Inn itself to speak of, and their check-in process is a little unorthodox, so investigate that before you book in case it troubles you in some way (single women in particular). We were happy to see how close we were to a beautiful lake. If you read the documentation then you will notice that you are indeed allowed to walk through the next door properties in order to go down to the lakefront. There is a dock and If you are into sunsets then you will be very happy. Be sure to get there and go down in time! I missed it by a little bit, but it was still quite beautiful. See photos. We really did like the location because of the proximity to the town, but if road noise bothers you, this might be a tiny bit too close to the road for you. I don't love road noise myself, but I will say that even though it was pretty noisy during heavy traffic times, overnight was very quiet."

"If you need to stay in Lake County, this is a quaint, family run motel style establishment that has no-frills clean beds and a shower. There is decent wifi; the TV channel selection is nothing special. There is no onsite food, but there are a few places to get a quick bite within walking distance."

"You reserve over the phone, keep your confirmation info and directions. There is no office or anyone we saw that worked on location. I didn’t know my name was on the door and it was open. I almost left but called number on web site and left a message they called back and said just go in. We never saw anyone that worked there at all. We just left the key in the room and left in the morning. The place is very clean and nice. I would go back and now I know how it works."

"Loved spending two nights at the inn. Room was clean, the kitchenette has all the basics too cook meals. I spent most of the time at the lake. So peaceful. Can only recommend it."
