"I really wish I could write a positive review about Hialeah Salsa Lovers, a place that open its doors to many people like us looking for a Salsa Dance Studio that made us feel welcome and at ease while learning to dance Salsa, a place where we can make new friends and share our time with them dancing however, this is-not longer that place. The popularity of the studio is at a record low and we, as a current student of Salsa Lovers - Hialeah, had the opportunity to watch first hand how the quality and energy levels of this studio has diminishing to the point were there is only one instructor and a hangful of unhappy students struggling to learn their steps. I don't blame the instructor/s because they are also in the limbo given the facts that on this studio, Hialeah, the hours of operation are not respected or are very flexible. For example: The hours of operation on the door read Monday to Friday however, they have been closed on Fridays since I started on May 2022. The studio not only observe the national holidays but, they are other "non holidays" when they are closed too. The Hialeah studio was closed a week with the excuse of giving the instructors a week off, something the instructors never asked for and only the Hialeah location. Another factor why the instructors job is made so difficult is the fact that beginners 1 has been eliminated and no longer given to the students probably because they don't have enough instructors per day, only one or two. In the 11 months we have been going to SL- Hialeah, we had the opportunity to take classes with Rene, the owner, 3 times in total, and also at the beginning, we had one or two of the teachers of the SW Salsa Lovers come over to teach in Hialeah and althoug it was not often, it was very fun and refreshing. Thank you Monica, thank you Oscar, thank you Maryane, thank you Erika for making the extra effort and take the trip north to help us get better at dancing. Thank you very much. In general, the variety of instructors at the time we joined was good with teachers like Maggie, who everyone loved. She made the process of learning (especially for beginners) so enjoyable and fun with her jokes that lower the tension and the stress between many students on their first classes and even for us who are no beginners, we missed you Maggie. Another great instructor we had the pleasure of sharing class with is Samantha, always caring and very concerned about the students. she was the first one to combine different moves consecutive to give us an idea of how to dance with a partner and not casino (dancing in a circle). Thank you Sam. Recently, we had a new teacher join the team who added a new life to the studio, Oscarito. He is a skilled and versatile Cuban Style Salsa dancer who made learning fun for all of us with his fast-paced and challenging classes but, as usual, all good things are short lived in Hialeah SL and he is now gone. Thank you Oscarito, we will miss you. Hector, the other instructor who has been with us since the beginning and the only one left at the time I am writing this review, has been dancing for 15+ years and his knowledge of the Salsa Lovers moves and figuras is unquestionable. His job as an instructor has been tough, to say the least, given the fact that we, the students, are not always easy to deal with. It must be frustrating having to teach a class to a variety of students that have diferent skill levels and some of them are not even up to that level yet but, he is not no to blame completely for that issue given that some of the students think that they can bypass the learning curve and simply go to the other of the 2 locations to have the instructor/s there pass them to the next level simply by asking constantly or by favoritism. I will leave my personal opinion about this issue out just because I have not been to class in SW Salsa Lovers and I want to be impartial however, if I am mentioning the issue is because I have noticed it. In theory, the dance clases are structured to be imparted according to the student level (3 diferent su"
