"Do NOT make a mistake and sign with these shady people. They keep raising rates and will not pay claims. I have a leaky roof that needed replacing, they refused to pay more than a small portion. I had to pay for it and now My roof Looks ridiculous. They are an uncaring outfit who just keep raising my rates. Stay far away"

"My elderly mother had house insurance from TypTap and missed a payment because she didn’t realize that it was her house insurance bill. She called and explained that it was a mistake and she would pay what she owed. They canceled her house insurance and said they would review and see if she could renew and they would call and let her know. Never received any calls or response. Then called them after 4 days and they wouldn’t tell her anything. So called her agent and he said they would NOT renew her house insurance! All over a simple mistake of an elderly woman who couldn’t see the bill. Very disappointing. Would bring my business elsewhere."

"If I could give 0, I would. This is the worst ho insurance and horrible customer service. Our desk adjuster refuses to take our calls and will not return them. We settled upon an agreement and it has been almost 90 days. FYI TyTap, we pay you. We are your customer. It would be wise to treat us respectfully. Next call is The news and florida commissioner. Absolutely appalling."

"First year they were great just like with the experience I had with kin.. then they hiked it way up..about 25% more than I got it from someone else this year.. the worse was I have made at least 4 phone calls 40 days before due date to discuss the plan and make changes with a promise to get a call back or email a new proposal .I got a case number on the first call with a name of the agent and referred to it on follow up calls. It is now 2 days before policy end . I have never received a response ..their plan was $5200… I got much the same coverage for &3800."

"I have had nothing but a positive experience with TypTap. We had damage from Hurricane Ian, and they were very easy to deal with during the claim process. Payments were made very promptly, and the damage was paid in full. It made it less stressful for me and my family. My only concern is what will our renewal rate be? Last year we saw a significant increase, and this was prior to a massive hurricane. What will this year be, and will we be able to afford the new policy? I do highly recommend TypTap as a home insurance company for residents in Florida."
