"Been training here for over a year. Great gym with great coaches and very family friendly. My two daughters also train here. You will certainly get a good workout and learn self defense. The head instructor is also a worlds gold medalist. I really couldn’t ask for better."

"I went once for a trial class (Adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Flamingo Park). Signing up was straightforward and convenient, and I even rescheduled once very easily. My impression can only be based on my one experience, so take that as you will. I stayed after class to talk with the instructor, as well. There was one instructor (professor), and one other student. If you're already experienced in Jiu Jitsu, you may enjoy the one-on-one practice and instruction. As a beginner, I spent less than 5% of the class doing movements specific to Jiu Jitsu sprinkled throughout the warm-ups (70% of the class), and the remainder watching the instructor practice with the other student (30% of the class). Having years of experience in Tae Kwon Do, Kummooyeh, and Hapkido I realize that observation is important, but I've never had so little hands-on practice. The instructor told me that this was intentional, to avoid inexperienced people getting hurt. This is not my preferred ratio for a physical learning environment, but it's not a negative judgement - every teacher decides that ratio for their classes based on their legacy/preferences. I was initially on the fence about continuing, since I would eventually get more specific practice as I progressed. But after having a conversation with the instructor following class, I decided not to continue with this academy. He made a point to tell me that he would be able to beat the women's BJJ world champion in a match, for instance, because women should not expect to gain the same level of capability as men for various reasons. Overall, the academy was not a good fit for me. A large reason was the time spent in actual practice, but it was significant to me that the mindset of the instructor was antithetical to my understanding of the ethos of martial arts (for various reasons)."

"The best instruction in South Florida. Enough talent in the room to get quality rolls and an amazing full body workout. Knowledgeable instructors help to answer any questions about supplementing conditioning and martial arts, you can't go wrong giving them a try."

"Miami Martial Arts is fantastic. I took my son and daughter to their Brazilian Jujitsu (BJJ) for kids at 6 pm at North Shore Park. It was the free introductory class. We will definitely be coming back. The instructor runs a tight practice and you can tell he cares about what he does and about the kids. For the newer students, like my kids, he made sure to give them some one on one pointers. The class had a great bunch of kids. What I appreciated most was that the more expereinced kids were helping out the newer kids. Really happy to have found this program."

"I started training with the coaches at Miami Martial Arts almost 2 years ago and am very pleased with my growth. I am so impressed with my results , I signed up my nephew (aged 9) as well to join their kids program. Miami MA is the optimal location to start or continue your martial arts journey. The coaches not only have solid handles on the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling & fitness but also exhibit unique styles and insights that will sharpen your game and bring your skills to the next level. I highly recommend Miami Martial Arts!"
