"I tried working with 3 different agents at Finney, and they were all horrible. The first one, Debbie, who convinced me to transfer my home, flood and auto policies to this agency did a bait-and-switch, making me think that she would be my actual agent. Instead, once I signed everything over to her, she transferred me to another agent, Stephanie, without my knowledge. Next, I wanted to get a low-mileage insurance policy for my car (I drive about 10 miles per week), so I emailed the agency a list of 3 companies I found who claimed they wrote these kind of policies. Debbie replied and told me that none of them were still writing them, but I later found one of companies on my list still was. I even called and got a quote from this company without any help from anyone at Finney, but, unfortunately, having believed Debbie, I had already signed for a regular policy with a company recommended by Finney. The third problem was with my Citizens home owner’s insurance. Citizens did an inspection of my home in May that had multiple errors on it which would improperly raise my renewal premium. I got a copy of the inspection and immediately contacted Stephanie to have Citizens redo the inspection. For weeks, rather than be my advocate, Stephanie tried to talk me out of having the inspection redone by claiming that it was only for “internal use” by Citizens and it would in no way affect my premium (that was a lie). Thankfully, I did not take her advice, and a month later after many phone calls and emails from me to Stephanie, Citizens redid the inspection. I also called Finney and told them I no longer wanted to work with Stephanie because of her poor performance. So, I was transferred to Jacqueline. When I got the second inspection, there were even more errors on it than the first inspection, and Jacqueline told me I should expect a 90-100% increase in my renewal premium, over $4000 more than last year. I told Jacqueline to have Citizens do the inspection over again, but she did everything she could to slow and delay the process, including not returning my phone calls and telling me to contact Citizens when it was her responsibility to do so. She even told me I would have to pay for the third inspection which was not true. Since Citizens ordered the first inspection, they had to pay for all three. In the end, because of their bad advice and poor performance, it took 5 months, over one hundred phone calls and emails, 3 inspections, and a manual re-write to get all the errors corrected. However, when it was finally all done, Citizens quoted me a renewal rate of just $8 over last year’s premium. I saved over $4000 on my home owner’s insurance renewal premium by NOT following Finney’s agents advice. Insurance agents are supposed to be your advocate, not your adversaries. Karmically, because they chose to delay things by responding to most of my phone calls with emails, I have written documentation from them about everything I wrote here, and I’m filling complaints about Finney with both the Florida Insurance Commissioner’s Office and the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Update: 11/14/23 - In response to Finney's reply below, I think what I said above is enough. I won't waste any more of my time correcting them yet again. Update: 11/15/23 - On second thought, let me comment on Finney's whitewash reply. They say “when you contacted us you were first connected to the sales department.” Sales department? Finney is in a tiny 1477 sq ft, 1 floor building. That place is so small that if anyone farts everyone in there smells it. I guess if you count every desk in the place as its own department, then yes, they do have about a dozen “departments” crammed into there. Also, they brag that “most importantly we did jump in the fight with you.” No you dragged your feet, misled me and would have cost me thousands of dollars more on my home insurance premium if I had blindly followed your advice. Yeah, you jumped in the same way Donald Trump jumped in to stop the Capitol Hill riots on January 6th."
