About the Business
A&M Jiu Jitsu is a gym and health institution located at 5300 Powerline Road in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Our mission is to promote steady growth and hard work in a friendly and safe environment where our members can feel free to be themselves.
Our head instructor, Andrew “Dru Phoenix” Cuthbert, is a South Florida native, Marine Veteran, and Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu. After serving in the Marine Corps and overcoming an ACL reconstruction, Dru earned his Black Belt in 10 years under AJ Sousa and Kini Grandinho Cole. He is an active competitor and co-owner of A&M Jiu-Jitsu, working alongside his cousin, Devin, to provide the best training environment possible.
Michael Isler is the head coach for our youth program. He began his martial arts training at the age of 16 in Hapkido and holds black belts in Hapkido and hapkiyoosul (Korean Jiu-Jitsu). He also holds a Brown belt in BJJ and believes in using martial arts as a way of life to inspire children to be the best versions of themselves.
