"If you like history, making great friends, and learning to use a sword, this is the place for all 3. Whatever you are expecting, it is so much more than that- from music lessons to crafting classes to incredible parties, it's more of a large family than a school, and a loving and welcoming family at that."

"I decided to take the 8 week beginner class to see if it would help me lose weight and get stronger. It worked and is a lot of fun. I have lost 12 lbs and gained a lot of muscle tone in only 7 weeks. Surprisingly it has also helped me recover from a foot injury by increasing my agility and ability to recover from slips. The teachers and fellow students are patient and kind, supporting my sometimes slow learning. I am definitely signing up for more after I “graduate” next week.I will add more pictures when I lose more weight."

"In the world of Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA), finding a school that can provide top-notch instruction, a sense of community, and opportunities to learn related crafts is no easy feat. However, I am happy to say that the Palm Beach Sword school exceeds expectations in every aspect. From the moment you walk in, you can sense the community spirit that is fostered within this school. The students are friendly and welcoming, and the head instructor, Ben Kerr, has an impressive resume that speaks to his expertise in HEMA. In fact, I would go so far as to say that Ben Kerr has the most impressive resume I have ever seen for a HEMA instructor-or anyone for that matter. But the quality of the instruction at Palm Beach Sword school is what really sets it apart. Ben and his team are exceptional teachers who have a deep knowledge of HEMA and are able to convey that knowledge in a way that is easy to understand and apply. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, you will find the instruction at this school to be challenging, engaging, and rewarding. One of the unique aspects of Palm Beach Sword school is the emphasis on crafting and blacksmithing classes. These classes allow students to learn the historical context and the techniques behind the weapons they are studying, which helps to deepen their understanding and appreciation of the art. If you want to learn how to bagpipe, they have that too. Overall, I cannot recommend Palm Beach Sword School enough. If you are looking for a top-notch HEMA community that values high-quality instruction, a sense of community, and opportunities to learn related crafts, then this school is for you. Give it a shot – you won't be disappointed!"

"I loved taking classes with PBSS back in 2019 at their Lake Worth dojo location and dropping into one class at their outdoor location in 2020. Ben’s historical textbook derived fighting styles make the classes format feel true to form of how swordsmanship must’ve been taught for centuries to professional armies. Great group of people!"

"I've been attending class here almost a year now and it has been an incredible experience. The instructors are welcoming, insightful and have shown clear dedication to the instruction of HEMA. They offer many courses from different time periods and also incorporate events and activities to keep a fun atmosphere. Definitely would recommend to anyone interested in historical fencing."
