Ancient Ways Martial Arts Academy

"My son has been with ancient ways since this past summer. What started a sunmer program for him became something he has become excited and passionate about. After one week of camp he was begging to sign up. It took two trial classes and he was hooked. We even signed up before his trial was over. Fast forward to now, he’s a green belt and advanced to their black belt club. For a long time he has struggled to really find his place. He has some very minor mobility problems, not enough that his day to day is greatly affected, but enough that traditional sports and some things in school proved to be more difficult. Karate became the place where he wasn’t different. He could participate, and I’ve seen his physicality improve ten fold since starting, even his ortho noticed a difference at his annual follow up! Karate is the place where he doesn’t feel different, and everyone welcomes him. Not only that but it has given him a confidence he didn’t have before, and that confidence and has moved also to the classroom. His behavior has improved and his work ethic has gotten so much better. Ancient ways is a family run school, and it shows. Each person in that family is so kind. And all the instructors are incredible. They aren’t there to just teach martial arts, they take a vested interest in our child. They share in his milestones, his achievements, and when his behavior at home is less than ideal, they are there to help guide him. As a parent, I know there’s ways I need to improve, and they have on countless times helped me through difficult behaviors at home and gave me ways to navigate through that. We have seen changes in our child AND the way we’ve been able to parent for the better. We love ancient ways, and are excited for the years to come there."

"This is a great program, keeps my little guy busy. It challenges him while giving him a sense of accomplishment when get starts learning new things and loves to teach me his moves at home. "Ancient way first came to my sons elementry school for a 2wk trial and he immediately was hooked. He'd come home wanting to show me his new moves and all that he's learned. He started taking classes at their dojo in September, they are attentive and really take the time to learn each child's personality, strength, and weaknesses and goals. The instructor are knowledgeable, kind, energetic, animated and great with the kids. They also teach teens and adults. The facility is well kept and clean. The students are respectful and are welcoming to newcomers. My 5yr was a bit intimidated when he started taking classes at the dojo and was reluctant to participate, the new environment and the larger groups and just being around new people was a bit much for him. The instructor were patient and worked with him 1:1 in a corner untill he was ready to join the rest of the class. In a short 3wks his confidence has taken a full 360. He now shows up eager to join the class. Highly recommend this for anyone."
