"We did soccer there for several years. It was ok. They added fields in Pinellas and expanded several years ago. That’s when things went downhill. To justify their expansion we had to drive all over to play teams from those fields. Scheduling was constantly changing and it was not convenient to the families. Games were cancelled and relocated to other fields. Often a cancelled game was rescheduled for the next day without consulting the families. We just got tired of the hassle and left."

"Unfortunately, there is not a true competitive program. It is labeled that, and you pay the high price for it, but it is no better than their recreational program, which is run by a wonderful director. Competitive plays the players regardless of skill, splits the time, there is no sense of the word ‘starters.’ It’s all about ‘fun’ and ‘experience,’ yet when you have children who want to up their game and experience it with the sport, losing all the time is not ‘fun.’ The saddest part is there are no other clubs even remotely close that are worth the drive. FP is too far in Hillsborough/surrounding counties, and TBU is too far."

"Our take with the Celtic soccer program in Largo, FL. Our daughter started in the Soccer Shots program at an early age. When she aged out, we were recommended to Celtic Rec as a good next step. We had a very good experience with coach Andrew with U10 girls. Our daughter has shown a lot of talent in the sport and wanted to pursue it even farther by trying out for a competitive team. Everyone that watches her play asks "does she play with a club?" We had some questions about the process and began some emails back in Jan/Feb. No response. Weeks went by and no response. 1st red flag. We also inquired about the United Club in Pinellas Park and the Chargers in Clearwater. We got immediate responses from both clubs and phone calls as well. However, already being in the Celtic family, we continued to consider Celtic as our top choice. Even though I had my doubts with the lack of communication. The stinger is, all 3 clubs schedule their tryouts on the same days and times. With that said, both United and Chargers were communicating with us regarding some other options. Celtic made no attempt to work beyond their tryout schedule. Our daughter could only make one tryout due to a previous obligation with her school. We felt this was going to be a problem and as it turns out, it was. Weeks went by after tryouts with no communication from Celtic regarding if she made it or not. Even after an inquiry about it. More red flags. The director finally responded "we don't communicate with all our players". I find this unacceptable practice. Our family was willing to spend thousands of dollars and countless hours to the Celtic team, and they don't even have the decency to let you know where you stand. You are left in the dark. The Chargers coach met with our daughter on a days notice and accessed her skills. He said she scored very high in a lot of skills and avg on others. Nothing was low. Offered her a position on the team right on the spot. This coach has 20+ years experience in this age group and represented the organization with class and professionalism. If we didn't have such a good experience with Celtic Rec and coach Andrew, this would have been one star. Overall communication is poor and their PR is not good. Emails do not get responded to in a timely manner and your navigating through murky water. We've had friends go through the Celtic club program and they have all said "you just have to put up with it" if you want to be a part of the club. This is not the way to treat families that are just looking for answers. Any great organization has great communication. Other clubs make you feel welcome and are willing to work with you. Celtic does not have that vibe. I think the club has some growing pains and is too big for them to handle. I'm happy for their success but at what cost? Best of luck!"

"I started here 30 years ago when there was large announcer box atop a metal building and a guy lived in a mobile home on the property. It was Seminole Junior Warhawks back then. The pitch's were bumpy, dead grass kind of like playing on bombing area for the Air force. We all survived and didn't know any better back then. I have great and fond memories. Please never let the complex go."

"Has bathrooms with more than just one stall. Good grass. I hear the concession stand is good, parking is a little cramped but is in the middle of all the fields so is good. I have 2 kids playing rec soccer for their first times with this club and it’s good. No bleachers. No playground. Not much shade at all. Kids love it though :)"
