"I have been with Heart to Heart for multiple years now, - I guess you could say I’m a regular now. I've been with them through my divorce, the passing of both my parents unexpectedly, my mental health, and everyday life. Furthermore, I haven't had one bad experience since the time I've been here. They truly care for their patients, and take the time to genuinely listen to how you are feeling. They will be honest in their responses, which I know at times I didn't want to hear, BUT in reality.... I needed to hear it. I've been to other therapists that only agree with your train of thought, which simply magnifies your reasons for why you feel the way you are feeling without looking from a different perspective. I've had the pleasure of working with April, Kara and now Greg. These 3 have helped mold my mind in such a way - that I feel as if I am walking around with the golden ticket from Willy Wonka. Recently, I’ve decided to incorporate Greg's EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). In simple terms, Greg guides me in reducing the emotional impact of traumatic / painful and troubling memories. It involves focusing briefly on the traumatic memory while experiencing bilateral stimulation through equipment that allows you to follow a light with just your eyes. The movements of your eyes are the same as when you are sleeping. Essentially, we are able to enter that state while awake and walk through the events peacefully and reprocess how we view them. So far I have had one session, and from that one session I feel as if 4 years of weight has been lifted off of me. I've had a lot happen in a short period of time, unfortunately, but to have the feeling of this weight lifted, and the clarity I now feel - it is worth every $ in my opinion. I look forward to continuing my life journey through this crazy world with Kara and Greg by my side at Heart to Heart.
