"I was referred to Dr. Marella by my family doctor due to an elevated PSA. Dr. Marella explained to me what this could mean in regards to prostate problems and scheduled me for an MRI, where two suspicious lesions were found. Dr. Marella provided me information of what this could mean and recommended that I schedule a biopsy of my prostate, which he performed in his office. The biopsy confirmed that I had prostate cancer and the Gleason score determined it was low risk and low grade. Dr. Marella explained to me what this means, and all the various things that could happen in regards to the cancer in the future and the probabilities of those happening. Initially I was chose to do surveillance and monitoring, but after a short period I scheduled another appointment with Dr. Marella to let him know I had changed my mind and wanted to have my prostate removed to alleviate concerns of the potential spread of the cancer. Dr. Marella scheduled and performed a robotic assisted radical prostatectomy at UF Hospital in Leesburg. The surgery lasted about four hours and I was discharged from the hospital the next day. Throughout this whole period Dr. Marella was very professional, compassionate, and ensured all my questions were answered that allowed me to make informed decisions about my health. I have had two follow up visits with Dr. Marella in the last four weeks and he has continued to answer all of my questions, and he has advised how we will monitor through blood tests to ensure there is no cancer in my body in the future. Fortunately there were no indications from the pathology report that the cancer had spread anywhere else. I give Dr. Marella, and his staff at his office, as well as the staff at the hospital, the highest marks possible. By keeping me well informed about my cancer and all the treatment options I was able to maintain an extremely positive attitude throughout this entire experience. I highly recommend that if any men are having prostate issues that they seek a referral from the family doctor to see Dr. Marella."

"Absolutely horrible urologist. I went through 3 procedures with him for kidney stones. No real discussion, or plan of attack prior to the procedures. No discussion afterwards. I went through 3 procedures because of his lack of being thorough. 2 stents, and I ended up with an infection that landed me in the hospital for a week. I was required to get IV antibiotics for a month. Never heard from him or anyone from his practice at all. Avoid this man at all costs. He really deserves no stars."

"Dr Marella is a horrible urologist. He doesn't discuss pre surgery procedures nor post surgery procedures. I had to find him for answers on the procedure he performed on my husband. He has no bedside manner whatsoever and his office employees are the same. He messed up my husband's procedure and left him in severe pain and hasn't called about removing the stent he put in him. I highly suggest you go to anyone else but him"
