"Honestly, they have great merchandise and you could tell that the owner knew his inventory but he couldn’t have been more awkward. I first asked if there was a dressing room and he said “of course, why would I have a store without a dressing room?? I couldn’t even get a permit.” Okay, thanks. I purchased what I got but my husband who is quite tall and slender always has a hard time finding clothes. As I was checking out, the owner seemed very irritated that my husband didn’t like the fit of a shirt. That’s it. Just didn’t like it. So he mentioned his typical issue and the owner just kind of lost it. He kept going on and on about how my husband explanation isn’t real and he didn’t understand even what he just said and that it didn’t matter because he was closing up after we left anyway. It was bizarre frankly, and I ended up having to say, that our son had to go to the bathroom for him to get off his tirade against my husband and finish the sale with me. Had I not needed what I had purchased, I would have asked for my card back and left. It was truly awkward. He did not like us and it was obvious. I have no idea why. We love surf shops and this one was similar to the ones we love, but we won’t be returning."
