"MTI pediatric transplant team is the best I’ve experienced. They listen to my concerns and assisted me with my child’s needs before and after transplant. The pretransplant process felt like it took forever but just when I thought this would take forever, we got the heart wrenching call that has changed our lives forever. From the nurses, doctors, surgeons, nurse manager, coordinator and transplant assistants we now have a new extension of our family that makes sure that we get our lab results, the medications, appointments & whatever else that we may need. Miami Transplants is the only place that I trust with the life of my child’s transplant. Thank you soooooooo much!!!"

"Incompetent Doctors and Nurses with staff that honestly do not care about your health. Save your time and money GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. If you value yours or your loved ones lives DO NOT GO TO UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI, JACKSON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, especially for transplant its a death trap."

"I can’t say enough Great things about MTI! They saved my life with a Lung Transplant almost three years ago. Dr. Loebe was my surgeon and my pulmonologists (Dr. Sinha & Dr. Manickavel) that have been treating me are Amazing; Professional, knowledgeable, respectful and kind. I continue to see Dr. Manickavel and my Nurse coordinator Joy and I couldn’t be more pleased and grateful for their compassionate support."

"“Your new kidney is going to last 20 years”. This is what Dr. Ciancio told my father after his follow-up. My father passed away a month later, 2.5 months, after his new kidney transplant. We still don’t know how or why, and no one knows the answer. I am very disappointed with the MTI. They lack professionalism, knowledge, and compassion towards patients. My father received his transplant on May 13th, 2023 and on May 23rd, he started to experience diarrhea. The MTI team told him to go to the ER and that he would have a room reserved on the hospital floor when he arrived. This was a lie. He spent 5.5 hours in the ER waiting room to be treated for his diarrhea. It turns out it was just a side effect from Prograf or Myfortic, and up to his passing, my father experienced diarrhea daily. I was the one who told him how to treat it, unlike the MTI team, who just said it was a side effect and did nothing more. Second, my father complained of severe swelling on his right leg and the team thought nothing of it. On June 22, 2023, it was confirmed that my father had a massive blood clot on his popliteal vein and that was why the swelling was so severe. The team thought it was normal for the longest, and it took them over a month to finally do a leg ultrasound and treat it. He spent close to a week in the hospital treating it, until he was finally discharged on Warfarin. The point of this review is to bring awareness about the MTI. YOU must be your biggest advocate because they lack the knowledge and care. You must always fight for yourself, your loved one, and the transplant recipient and push them to do their jobs. If you think something isn’t right, call your transplant coordinator, and keep calling until someone actually does something. It shouldn’t have been me who said to treat my father’s diarrhea with Imodium, they should have done something more. They insisted he was dehydrated and that is obvious with the diarrhea. They insisted his right left swelling was normal when he had a massive blood clot. I truly do believe that the MTI did their best not to help my father, and if they had shown more knowledge and compassion, he would still be alive. I never thought I’d have to utilize my CPR skills, but unfortunately, I had to on my father. The MTI had no answers as to what happened, and I am not surprised. My father never missed an appointment, never missed a dose, and did everything he did to ensure that his new kidney would function to the highest degree. My family and I are very disappointed by the MTI and would recommend all potential transplant recipients seek a different transplant center for your transplant."
