MAST Academy Rickenbacker Causeway

"I am writing this to warn the people that read these reviews before sending there child to MAST. I am currently a 10th grader at MAST and my experience has been pretty rough in this school. In 9th grade I was accused of something and punished for it. Problem was I didn't do it and when I tried to defend myself by saying look at the cameras it showed I didn't take it but I was still punished and told "Well we have to punish somebody". It put me into a bad place where I lost someone dear to me because if it (as is we stopped talking). After this happened covid happened and I felt maybe I could reset after all of the chaos was over but when I came back I was meet by staff that didn't care about covid and when someone tried to tell the press (yes search us up you will find some articles) the Principal just tried to bury it and end it there. But that's just the staff, if we went to the people there's a category system of Maritime and Cambridge which means are you from Miami or Key biscayne which makes people create the term "Key kids" which is a way of calling anyone from the Key which has been used as a joke but also as a power title. Kids from the key are known here for being a students that bully others or look down on people not from the key. Now I can't say everyone does because I gave two stars for the reason that I have also meet amazing people and teachers here that I appreciate for pushing me to go be better. Any way I hope you read and add with the other real comments not the troll ones."

"Went to this school for 6 years and hated almost every second of it, lackluster and unmotivated teachers (particularly math) especially pathetic for a school that takes so much pride in its STEM courses. The staff seems to believe that education is the one and only thing that matters in one school life which drives a prison like feeling into the school. The school fails to organize anything remotely interesting in order to maintain a students interest or spirits up and it's seen through many of the students attitude towards the school, as there are few who would say they are proud to go to MAST Academy school of eXcElLeNcE. When I tried to address this very issue by attempting to start more interesting sports and clubs I was met with poor attitudes and near 0 willingness to help and hear me out from the staff."

"Worst school I have ever seen. They say it's a good school academically, maybe it's the case if you want your child to become a little robot that can't think for himself. No humanity in this school, narrow minded."

"Horrible staff, one of the main administrators of the school, Mr. Gould grabbed me in an inappropriate area of my body, I was point blank from denouncing him to the police for sexual harassment. I have many issues with this school. For starters, from having experienced it first hand, the teachers are lazy, they don’t know what they’re doing. Most, if not all of the teachers I had were clearly unhappy where they were and many of the teachers are getting PHD's while attending this school. The administration has no care in the world for the health or wellbeing of their students. My counselor never seemed to care and I stand by everyone who's gone, they never helped any of us with stuff. What's more is that is that the teachers indulge with the students sometimes infantile behavior whereas some teachers were seen smoking marijuana with a couple of their students during the school day. There are videos around which can easily be attained. If this is the attitude of Mast Academy - "A school of excellence", what is the message they are truly trying to send."

"I' m not rich and I belong to medium-low class family. My son was accepted to this wonderful school and I feel blessed. The school is demanding but who said that get success in life would be easy? Thanks Mast to set up the basis of my son' future career."
