"I truly don't know where to begin. Thinking to enroll my child into St Helen I thought would be great program balance. Until an assessment was given to my child and judgement begun by the principal and assistant. I did not know a test would determine my child's eligibility of enrolling into this school for New structure. I know my child is intelligent and capable of reading writing spelling and mathatics as they tired to pose a test showing weakness and did not point out his strength. Instead of taking his weakness they thought would retain if enrolled in their school you would think they would encourage to help him improve they excepted him to already be prepared as the assessment giving seems for the already second graders at their school ensuring their ready for third grade. Assessment was not for first graders to second grade as the word list I saw would of been different. Incorrect standardized test. Made me as a mother walk away as it was my child's fault. Test taking is so different from learning teaching etc. I'm a well educated MOTHER with a 4 years college bachelor's degree. St Helen school system is a joke and built for their own kind, or money if your child have not being with them since pre-school don't waste your time. Every school structure is different and the opportunity of a child education should not be determined by an assessment or judged by a report from a previous school or because you don't know their behavior because the report does not say much however clearly shows SATISFATORY in the that subject. The child did not completely failed as it was judged that way and if so they should of put where needed to catch up or improve skills. It seems they see it as their school is to prefect for new enrollment.If your school so better comparing it to The other school then a child should be taught on a higher education present that structure and help parent child and school. The Quality of practice for education for new enrollment at St Helen is poor and unbelievable for them to think their school is better than a child to accept and not teach.The principal made it like she truly wanted to accept my child but the buts then when presented with information in question now an assessment and all other buts. Instead of providing my child with the opportunity to learn their structure right off they saw him as failing "retain" principal exact word they did not wanna waste the time teaching new structure. SMH. Trying to explain what a mother know of her child as the assist principal provided test result she seen the methods used for a second grader skills and you straight deny education Because not built to your skill structure instead of improving his skills and preparing him for third grade right than and there fail the child...Wow..Entering their school felt it was not a fit as I was skeptical at first still attempted to give it a try. Do not waste your time enrolling if your child is not going to pre-school. I could only image if scored higher on that assessment it would of been something else to reasoning why they did not wanna accept . As the principal told me it's not so much the math she is worried about it is the reading.The assistant principal clearly seen he read the article to her and identified one character and three words in the spelling list mayb not all however it was proving reading was accomplished.God is good as we have moved on to another private school who does not test a child to enter test a child to succeed through their program enhancing for their future to be where they need or above in skill set. A child should not ever be denied education as clearly seen the child is not a problem child and is well educated from a different structure instead of judging, and comparing the school he comes from teaching structure, and poor report as the principal called it. St Helen failed to provide a new structure of education learning set skills.The principal offered next year she is willing to accept referred public school. I could go on it does not matter. SMH.."
