"I am writing this review from a unique perspective, as I not only work for Dr. Timothy Monroe, I am also a patient. After experiencing excruciating knee, leg, and back pain for many months, a lumbar MRI was done that showed a very large synovial cyst of the facet joint at L3/4 that was causing severe narrowing of the canal. I was in so much pain that it affected every aspect of my life. (It is hard to be pleasant when you are in constant pain!) It was apparent that surgery was the only fix, and after obtaining insurance approval, I was in the OR within no time. When I came to, I felt immediate relief. I was able to get up and walk without crying out and I could stand up without wincing. Being that I work for Coastal, and the fact that I chose Dr. Monroe to do my surgery, I feel, speaks volumes about both our practice and him as a surgeon. I pray that I never have to do it again, but if I do, I choose Dr. Monroe and his PA, Vicki! I took great comfort knowing that I was in such capable hands."
