About the Business

Pilo's Street Tacos

Pilo's Street Tacos is a food institution located at 28 Southwest 11th Street in Miami, Florida. Founded by Derek Gonzalez, the restaurant is inspired by the authentic street tacos made by his late Aunt Pilo in Mexico. The concept focuses on bold flavors and a welcoming environment, with a menu that includes the famous "La Pilo" Al Pastor taco and homemade guacamole. In addition to their first location in Brickell, Pilo's Tequila Garden in Wynwood offers a larger variety of tequila and Mexican cuisine in a visually stunning indoor/outdoor space.

Pilo's Street Tacos not only provides delicious food and drinks but also has a deeper mission of empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, known as "special abilities." By employing these individuals and helping them achieve their dreams, Pilo's aims to be the largest employer of individuals with special abilities. Guests can enjoy a taste of Mexico while supporting a meaningful cause at Pilo's Street Tacos.

"Good street food place in the heart of Brickell. We ordered carnitas quesadilla (very generous with the cheese and delicious cream and guacamole to go with it), a couple birria tacos and a burrito. We also ordered micheladas. First time I went, I thought everything was top notch in terms of flavor. Second time, flavor was okay but nothing super special. Ambiance is relaxing and chill but a bit empty."

"Food is amazing. The best Burritos I ever had. I tried pulled pork yesterday and Grilled chicken today and hard to say which is better. They are both delicious. Staff super friendly. Churros and sauces were also amazing. You must try ☝️"

"Maria was such a great server, she was very attentive and very helpful and patient, she made sure we had such a great time, we sat outside with music playing outside, very great ambiance. The drinks and food were delicious. I would definitely come back and have Maria as my server."

"Went for a late lunch, our server was very friendly and helpful with suggestions, even offered us the use of his own phone when ours wouldn't load the menu by scanning bar code. The service was wonderfully attentive, but the quality of food was only OK. My taco burria was soggy and lukewarm, didn't taste freshly made. The grill meat on hotplate was huge in portion but drenched in gready oil and lacked flavor, underwhelming. I guve kudos for our servers but the cooks in the back need to do better."
